From M6 Junction 36, follow the A590
for 12 miles towards Barrow. At Newby
Bridge go straight at the roundabout,
Lakes End is approximately 100 yards
on the left.


By Rail

The nearest station is Grange-over-Sands,
via a connecting train from Lancaster.
A Bus or taxi service will bring to you
Newby Bridge.


By Coach

National Express Coaches stop outside

Local Attractions


The English Lake District always has something special to offer no matter what the season. There are many local events and attractions to visit during the summer months, in spring and autumn nature is at its best and in winter the area can be enjoyed in a tranquil manner when the visitor numbers are lower.


Whilst staying at Lakes End, you can enjoy lovely country walks. Within five minutes you can board the steam railway at Newby Bridge Halt, travelling to Haverthwaite or Lakeside. At Lakeside visit the Aquarium of the Lakes, and then board a steamer to Bowness-on-Windermere and Ambleside. Other popular attractions include, The World of Beatrix Potter, Hill Top House, Blackwell The Arts & Crafts House, Cartmel Priory and Racecourse, Grizedale Forest, Tarn Hows, Holker Hall and Gardens, Fell Foot Park, Hawkshead Village and the market town of Ulverston.
